Bryan Konietzko: Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors were originally meant to be part of a one-off story, but they caught the imagination of the artists and writers on our crew (not to mention the fans), and we soon found ourselves planning to bring them back. I think as soon as Sokka and Suki kissed, we all wanted to see where that might lead. Mike and I have an affinity for strong female characters, so it is only natural that Suki carried her way her way into the main stable Team Avatar.
